Cancer Free and Grateful: Kristin's Story

Updated: Jan 22

Doctor talking with patient at desk
“I never imagined having to go through something like that. I am so grateful to be cancer free and to be alive.”  Kristin, Grateful patient

While breastfeeding her second child, Kristin noticed a lump in her breast that wasn’t going away.

Two weeks after her 35th birthday, Kristin was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Thanks to her care team at Ascension Saint Alexius, Kristin’s cancer was addressed quickly and she responded well to her treatments.

“The staff there is fantastic. I loved every single one of my nurses.” she said.

With treatment behind her, Kristin is focused on caring for her two young children and sharing her cancer story with others.
